Youth Learn to Press Forward With a Steadfastness in Christ

Each year young men and young women of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints are introduced to a new young men and young women theme for the year, a standard for living for youth 12-18 years of age. In this world of ever increasing secularism it is vital that young people have the opportunity to learn about faith in Christ.

The youth of Papua New Guinea were among those who recently held a conference to introduce the 2016  young men and young women theme, ‘Press Forward with a Steadfastness in Christ’.

Several adult Church leaders, mission leaders and senior missionaries joined in the 3 day event. Everyone participated with registration, security, chaperoning, food, budgets, classes and the devotional.

The Conference held in Port Morseby was well attended by many teenagers from POM, Rigo and Gerehu.

The four day conference included missionary preparation, unity, service, and dancing. Charles Tuigamala shared his feeling about the conference explaining: "It was a very busy conference. They divided us into groups and different tribes. We had to get to know each other and become a team. The most important aspect was about coming together in unity. This is one of the central parts of the Church of Jesus Christ. It is really important."

Here is their video from the last convention.
